The first press conference of the new director of East Bohemian Airport Mr. Ivan Čech was held on the 4th February 2021. Representatives of both shareholders – the mayor of the statutory city of Pardubice Mr. Martin Charvát and Member of the Board of Directors for the Pardubice Region Mr. Ladislav Umbraun, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of East Bohemian Airport Mr. Petr Juchelka also attended.

On Monday February 1st, 2021, a meeting of the Board of Directors of East Bohemian Airport (EBA) took place and elected Mr. Ivan Čech as the Managing director of the company. He also assumes the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors.
On February 4th, 2021, the first press conference of the new director of East Bohemian Airport took place. Representatives of both shareholders, the mayor of the statutory city of Pardubice Mr. Martin Charvát and Member of the Board of Directors also attended the press conference for the Pardubice Region Ing. Ladislav Umbraun. Chairperson of the Board of Directors of East Bohemian Airport Ing. Petr Juchelka was also present.
“I am glad that both shareholders have found a personnel solution that gives security to Pardubice airport. I would like to wish the new Director good luck on the new mission he has set out and I believe that Pardubice Airport will offer the citizens of Pardubice the opportunity to fly to its favourite destinations. Also I would like to thank the former director for her previous work in the company”, said the mayor Pardubice Martin Charvát.
Ivan Čech has held various highly-ranked positions within the Czech Air Force. He has also worked as the Director of the Administration and Security Section at the Civil Aviation Authority. Now Mr. Ivan Čech is the Managing director of the company. He also assumes the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors. The new director is no stranger to the field of aviation; he was in charge of the Military airport in Pardubice for almost 20 years
“We will be happy if the new director manages to stabilize the company’s financial results and we believe that the airport will be able to reach the numbers we know from the past. The first step was to stabilize the leadership of the company. I would like to wish the director a lot of success in current difficult times”, said Mr. Umbraun.
In 2020 Pardubice Airport, handled 34,238 passengers, decrease of 66 percent compared to 2019; but in percentage, it is the smallest decrease in passengers from all Czech civil airports.
“I wish the new director a lot of success in the new position and I am looking forward to our mutual cooperation, “added the chairman of the company Petr Juchelka.
At a press conference, Ivan Čech presented a proposal for the concept of further direction, the functioning of East Bohemian Airport. “I would like to continue the company’s previous cooperation with both shareholders both the statutory city of Pardubice and the Pardubice Region. Thank you to the shareholders for their support in recent years”, said the director of the company Ivan Čech.
“One of my goals is open and direct communication. Despite the current problems in aviation industry, EBA employees are working hard to prepare the airport for the new season to make it even better than the previous one. I am looking forward to the new challenge and I am happy to contribute to the development of Pardubice Airport, where I started 20 years ago”, said Ivan Čech.
